Microsoft Vista just can't seem to get a break. PC World named Vista the top tech disappointment of 2007. "It's not that Vista is awful," PC World states, "it's just that Vista isn't all that good."On the plus side, Vista has integrated security and parental controls, both of which were absent in Windows XP. It also sports that slick Aero interface and much improved wireless computability.

However, the negatives outweigh the positives according to PC World. For one, Windows Vista is slow. Noticeably slower than XP. It's also buggy and chances are some older software wont work on it. Lastly, it's expensive at about $400 for the Ultimate version.

With these drawbacks many users have decided to stick with their copy of XP. It's faster, more stable, and compatible with a wider range of software. Nonetheless Vista is the future of Windows, forced onto most consumers by many computer manufacturers, "and that's disappointing in its own right."
