the thinnest ever notebook
The new computer is 0.76 inches thick; at its thinnest, it’s 0.16 inches, he said. It comes standard with an 80-gigabyte hard drive, with the option of a 64GB flash-based solid state drive as an upgrade.
The new laptop, which has a 13.3-inch screen and full-sized laptop keyboard, will cost $1,799 when it goes on sale in two weeks.

1. Mandarin - Number of speakers: 1 billion+
The most widely spoken language on the planet is based in the most populated country on the planet, China. Beating second-place English by a two to one ratio, but do not let that lull you into thinking that Mandarin is easy to learn. Speaking Mandarin can be really tough, because each word can be pronounced in four ways (or "tones"), and a beginner will invariably have trouble distinguishing one tone from another. But if over a billion people could do it, so could you.

The names of three banks and the word "stocks" beat "sex" to become four of the most Googled words in China last year, according to a Google China list seen on Thursday. "On the Chinese mainland, it was money and technology that took the honors last year," the China Daily said, pointing out that "sex" was the most popular keyword for Google users in some other countries.Fourth on the list was "stock", not surprising with Shanghai shares having risen 97 percent last year. At number 1 was "QQ", a Chinese instant message service and a brand of car.

Day of Birth basically tells you the day of the week that you were born on. It also tells you other pointless but fun things such as: your star sign, how old you are, what season you were born in, how long until your next birthday, and how many days/hours/seconds you have been alive.

Each year since 1997, the US-based Electronic Privacy Information Center and the UK-based Privacy International have undertaken what has now become the most comprehensive survey of global privacy ever published. The most recent report, published in 2007 is probably the most comprehensive single volume report published in the human rights field. The lowest ranking countries in the survey continue to be Malaysia, Russia and China. The highest-ranking countries in 2007 are Greece, Romania and Canada. The 2006 leader, Germany, slipped significantly in the 2007 rankings, dropping from 1st to 7th place behind Portugal and Slovenia.
It’s pretty dismal. Basically, no country in the world presents a healthy environment for people who care about their privacy.

Microsoft Vista just can't seem to get a break. PC World named Vista the top tech disappointment of 2007. "It's not that Vista is awful," PC World states, "it's just that Vista isn't all that good."On the plus side, Vista has integrated security and parental controls, both of which were absent in Windows XP. It also sports that slick Aero interface and much improved wireless computability.
